Pam's creative path has taken her from Oregon, to New York and Montreal, and finally home again to her birthplace of Iowa.  After moving to Oregon at age 12, Pam was raised on a cattle ranch in La Grande with her dad, before heading to college at Portland State University.  However, her true calling was to be found outside the classroom, and by 23 she had left school to open both a wine bar and restaurant.  Following the transfer of business ownership, Pam was approached by a Portland area contractor to apprentice as a commercial space designer and estimator, and within 4 years she had established PH Design Group with offices in Portland and Seattle.

It was during this time that she found herself increasingly involved in the design and creation of custom furniture pieces, and in the process discovered her passion for welding.  In her quest to "learn to burn," Pam moved to New York, where she studied at the Modern Welding School, before moving to Montreal.

On a trip back to Iowa to visit family she discovered Iowa City, and set down roots here, founding PH WELD and her custom furniture business.  Since its inception, Pam has been commissioned to create custom pieces for multiple national businesses, including hotels, restaurants and architecture firms.
